Features of the next-gen laptop

Joel Levin has written a great article about what he thinks will be the features in our next generation laptops. Included are a 40 hour battery, USB 3.0, Blu-ray drive, SSD, and new kinds of memory, among others.

I’m looking forward to seeing a laptop with all of these features released. I’m guessing it will be instant-on, with a great looking screen, and it will be screaming with power, from the processor down to the hard drive.

Here’s an interesting laptop to get your child if you’ve recently spawned a next generation hero by getting it on with Cat woman or some other costumed freak. Or if your kid is named Robin and you dress him up in a tiny costume maybe. Oregon Scientific is making sure they get a slice of the Dark Knight pie, by offering your children this laptop sprouting bat wings. When closed it looks like Batman’s chest. Or as your child would say, “It look like Dada” just before you leave for the next Comic Book convention.

C’mon people, even the kids in Gotham don’t sport Bat laptops. It’s known as the Batman Power wing Laptop and runs on 3 x AA batteries for $89.99. If any of you adult geeks without kids get this thing for yourself, I suggest you don’t brag about it. For the rest of you, make sure that you let your kids play with it too. 

D-New Laptop Concept from Hao Hua

New shocking laptop concept has just made by Hao Hua. Its called the D-roll Laptop, its said this laptop concept is designed like an artist tube which is contains of a rolled-up OLED screen and slide out keyboard complete with a mouse and a web camera supports which has function as the end caps of the case.
There is yet no details information about the specifications and will it enter for production. But this Hao Hua’s D-roll laptop concept will become next precious technology.

Next Generation Laptop

At first look it looks like a normal laptop. A little bit sleeky, but still normal:

At an event held in Mumbai, HP showcased some concepts which are a part of HP Mobile Innovations Tour. The concepts are scintillating and represent HPs vision for 2012. All the devices will be able to communicate with each other, thus giving an always connected experience.

 

Wireless Gateway/Hub: The wireless gateway is the core for giving an always connected experience. This watch like form factor will connect devices likes laptops, PC etc.

 

Smart Shelf: Now the smartness factor of this shelf is that it charges the watch when placed on it and displays information stored in the watch.

 

Media Mat: This mat can be twisted, folded and can be placed anywhere. The mat connects with the help of the wireless gateway (watch) to connect to various services such as games (Monopoly?) or for content suited for larger display.


 

 

Laptop: This needs no description. It will be the next generation laptop. Ultra slim and light weight.

 

Digital Wallet: the digital wallet will be able to display real time transactions done with credit cards and others.

 

Tablet: Another next generation device from HP. This tablet will be super thin with prolonged battery life and will have web based content and applications instead of memory based.

 

Pen: It could write on any surface. Now you don't need paper to copy important numbers or notes. Just write it anywhere you like and the data will be stored in the pen itself.
